We have been telling everyone how much we like the HOTEL EDISON NEW YORK: Located in Midtown Manhattan, right next to Broadway and Times Square. This historic hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Times Square, the Edison was built in 1931 in the same Art Deco style as the Radio City Music Hall. If these walls could talk (some say they do!), I am sure they would tell us story after story of the New York and Broadway lifestyle.

The Edison Hotel features a beautiful Art Deco lobby and has been recently renovated. All facilities are very well kept and immediately upon entering this hotel you feel history around you. There are several restaurants and a cool old fashioned bar attached to the hotel. The loan-shark murder scene in The Godfather was shot in what is now called Sophia's restaurant. The Edison Café is a landmark among Theater goers and one of New York City's best coffee shop near Broadway. (try the "wedding cake")

The HOTEL EDISON offers standard rooms as well as family suites and each room has an air of history and mystery. Most rooms are quite spacious compared to other hotels in New York and some have views all the way to the Hudson River. The Hotel Edison offers clean rooms that are comfortable and tasteful, with an old world feeling decor, oil paintings, satin furniture, Heavy curtains, green marble tables, plenty of storage and air-conditioning is very efficient. Hair dryers and irons are available upon request. Although bathrooms are small, they are newly tiled and fresh, fully equipped, with a powerful shower and large tubs.Check in is 3 pm and check out is 1 pm.

Some of the Hotel Edison New York amenities include a gift shop, safety deposit boxes, an atm in the lobby and concierge desk. Nightly security staff are posted at the elevators to the rooms, requiring all to show their room keys before they can get into an elevator. Not too many Budget hotel in NY have this "luxury". The Edison features 770 rooms, 30 suites. Restaurant, coffee shop, cable TV, gym, bars, dry cleaning, broadband internet, business services, meeting rooms, airport shuttle, valet parking (fee),daily maid service and all rooms are no-smoking rooms.

The Hotel Edison New York has a great staff that is knowledgeable and friendly, eager to help you get a cab, give directions or recommend shows, restaurants, clubs, erc. For theatre buffs visiting New York with an eye on broadway, the Hotel Edison makes you feel like a star from the movie "Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There".
